Sony Unveils a whole range of W-Series DigiCams with smile shutter -- the 10.1-megapixel DSC-W170, 8.1-megapixel DSC-W150, 8.1-megapixel DSC-W130, and 7.2-megapixel DSC-W120. The first two feature 2.7-inch LCD screens and Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lenses, while the latter two feature 2.5 inch LCD screens and 4x optical zoom. All of the devices in the W-series feature the Smile Shutter technology, which means the shot will only be taken when all faces are already smiling. At the same time, the W150 and the W170 feature intelligent scene recognition (iSCN) technology, which allows the camera to choose the best setting depending upon the environment. The DSC-W120 will sell for US$200 in March, the DSC-W130 for US$230 on the same month, the DSC-W150 for US$250 in April, and the DSC-W170 for US$300 also on April.
